What can you say about Chrono Trigger? Phenomenal game, possibly one of the best RPGs for the Super Nintendo. Great gameplay and amazing soundtrack.
Though I don't know if I ever beat it. About five years ago I broke out my Game Genie and decided to essentially give myself God mode to beat some of the games I had never gotten around to finishing. I just don't remember if I did this with Chrono Trigger. As far as I know I didn't.
Either way, it's going to be fun to finally beat this game.

The game is hard. I remember all the hours I put into it and I cant say I was disappointed. About two years ago I played it again, to see how bad it had aged. To my surprise, I didn't mind the graphics or the gameplay. It would be good if they made a new sequel, just to see how they could shape it, although it will be hit and miss for it to be as popular as it once was.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason NES/SNES RPGs seem to never age for me, or at least never age badly. I don't know if it's because it's what I grew up playing or if it's because they weren't trying to do 3D graphics... they just always look and play like they're supposed to.
ReplyDeleteI really wonder why they didn't continue the Chrono Trigger franchise, it seems like it has a big enough built in fanbase to do well. Though after reading this: http://tinyurl.com/23cmpbr it would appear they're kind of wishy washy about the situation.
